Torfaen Coaching Centre will be holding a combined U9 & U10 development squad trial on Sunday 28th August 2016. The trial will be at Cwmbran Stadium from 11am - 1pm. This season will see the launch of a mandatory training & travelling kit for all selected Academy players.
The package will consist of training top, shorts & socks (this will also act as a 2nd kit in case of colour clash) plus a tracksuit top & bottoms for travelling to all games. There will be the option to purchase other items if required, but this will be the minimum expected for Academy players. Phase 1 Fixtures for the FAW Academy Season 2016/17 have been announced as follows:
11.09.2016 Barry Town v Torfaen 25.09.2016 Torfaen v Cambrian & Clydach 02.10.2016 Cardiff Met v Torfaen 16.10.2016 Torfaen v Risca 1. Three points are always awarded for a win. One point is always awarded for a draw. 2. The top two teams will qualify for the Super Six, the remaining seven teams will play each other in the Championship League. 3. Super Six - All teams will play each other twice (Home and Away - 10 games). The top four will go through to the Cup Quarter Finals (1 v 4 and 2 v 3). Points gained Group A-C are not carried over. 4. Championship League - All teams will play each other once (6 games). The top team will be crowned the Championship League winner. Points gained from A-C are not carried over. 5. The second phase fixtures will be released on Monday 17th October, with fixtures starting on Sunday 30th October. Torfaen Football Academy has received fantastic news that they have been granted Academy status for season 2016/17.
This will once again allow Torfaen Football Academy players, the opportunity of playing against the highest level of opposition within the principality. This we have always believed will aid in the long term, development of our young players. This is a great achievement for all involved from the parents & players, to the coaches and backroom staff. |
